Notable successes

1. Involvement with the Service First Centre has led to:

-disabled parking bays in Hillman Street adjacent to the building entrance

-Vehicle Drop of point outside main entrance

-Wheelchair facilities available within the building

-Motorised scooters permitted into the building

-Adding contrast edging to furniture

2. Hackney Museum are developing an exhibit in collaboration with the forum

3. Hackney Museum have a disabled parking bay outside the museum (a result of us letter writing)

4. Despite being told she was not allowed, a forum member was given a wheelie bin as a result of campaigning

5. 3 people had their freedom passes renewed after being told they were not eligible (a result of letter writing)

6. Hackney Street scene have committed to consult Disability Backup on all new strategies and developments

7. Devising and advertising our ‘Language Code’ to promote equality in language

8. Development of combined companion badge and blue badge applications
